Tears of Africa

Mr. President, On a quiet morning in Accra, as the early mist clears over the Gulf of Guinea, the Atlantic Ocean rolls steadily against the stone foundations of Osu Castle and Cape Coast Castle. For centuries, those waves have carried the memory of millions of our ancestors (men, women, and children) marched in chains through the "Door of No Return," stripped of their names, their families, their dignity, and their futures. Recently, I listened with profound interest to the interview granted by Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs on the BBC. He articulated our national position with clarity, conviction, and dignity.
